It's time again for Blue Monday over at Smiling Sally's and today for my Blue item I would like to show you my late-MIL's Beautiful set of Dinner wear called First Love by Norleans. It has small delicate blue roses all the way around it and silver trim. She purchased this from A&P one piece at a time back in the 70's. It was one of those buy so many groceries and get a piece of the week for .49 cents. She did buy the large platter extra for I believe 2.99. And the Creamer & Sugar for $1.99. She purchased the whole set, cups, saucers, bread & butter plates, dinner plates and soup bowls. The cabinet they are in is her China Cabinet that I recieved when she passed.
I also keep some of my other treasures in it. You can see her blue bowl on the
second shelf. And some of my egg cups.
I hope you enjoyed lookng at my blue offering,

Such a lovely set! I remember getting my first set at the A&P too ... one dish at a time LOL. Thanks for the fun memories Molly!
ReplyDeleteThat sure is a pretty pattern. And the china cabinet that you showed in the last picture...my grandmother had one just like it...boy does that bring back memories! I used to love to stand and look at all the goodies inside it! I have a little santa "toothpick holder" that I used to want to reach in and grab so badly (as a kid). My mom gave it to me years ago!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

Good heavens, I have not heard the words "A&P" in such a long time! Remember their Ann Paige brand? I did enjoy their coffee. Yer MIL's set sure is pretty, they look almost like blue roses on there.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Blues!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely china. I remember those promotions by the grocery store. Gas stations used to have them too. My mother had a set of china with a gold wheat pattern from a gas station.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely. These are nice heirlooms. Your close up of the tea cup is beautiful.I can really see those tiny blue roses and the curvy silver lines.
ReplyDeleteI think that china with delicate blue flowers may just be my favorite. Thanks for sharing. Happy Blue Monday.
