A-Z on Mondays J is for Jelly Beans

This week I am joining the meme A-Z on Monday ~~ blogging our way through the alphabet~~ All About Food! at Unglazed, check out her blog for other foods starting with J this week...
My favorite Easter candy is the Jelly Bean, well, heck I like jelly beans year round, the red and black ones are my favorite...hummmm
The gummy interior of the jelly bean may trace its origins back hundreds of years to Turkish Delight, while the outside shell is essentially the same as that developed in the late 17th century for Jordan Almond candies. The earliest known appearance of the modern jelly bean was during the American Civil War when William Schrafft of Boston promoted sending the candy to soldiers in the Union Army.[1] It was not until 1930 or so that jelly beans became an Easter candy, presumably from their resemblance to Easter eggs.[2] Their egg-like shape was then associated with the Easter Bunny, who gave out eggs on Easter.

Scenic Sunday...I am blessed...

Scenic Sunday is a photo meme of the scenery. It can be landscapes, buildings, flowers, or anything you feel it's a scenery photo. This meme will be held every weekend. To join, just post your scenery shots on your blog and link back to Scenic Sunday.
Sun rise over my neighbors pasture and new growth on the trees and pasture..
 New life in the pasture
Mr squirrel playing in the yard, last count there were over 15 who call my 2 acre woods home...
new growth on the oaks...and the sun makes the new leaves shine like gold...
While snapping pictures this morning, Mr Crow set on a limb, way off in the woods and fussed at me...lol...
Then when my day is ending I get to watch this beautiful sunset..how much more could I ask for...

Sunday Devotion....Sunshine Suddenly...

I wanted to post a Devotion my Niece wrote this week, she has a Ministry called about the Masters Business
and sends out a daily devotion..called Coffee Break this post really hit home with the way the world is today

"Sunshine Suddenly"
"And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm." Mark 4:39
When I got out of my vehicle to go into the recovery center yesterday, it was raining, the clouds were very grey and it was stormy. An hour later when I started to leave, the rain had stopped, the clouds had rolled away and the sun was shining brightly. How amazing, the day looked totally different than it had only a short while ago. As I noticed the transformation, the thought came to mind that our lives are often like this. We can be in the midst of a "storm" one minute than have "sunshine" the next.
The day itself was a beautiful reminder to me that the storms of life don't last forever. They do come to an end, and they can come "suddenly" like the physical weather changed yesterday. I thought the weather had set in and it was going to be like that all day, but it wasn't. Often when we look at our storms, especially if we have been in them any length of time, we begin to feel as if they will never stop or let up. But I have good news for you-- they don't last forever and they can cease when you least expect it.
The other good news is that Jesus is with you in the storm. More good news- Jesus still speaks to the storms and they have to obey. He still knows how to turn the situation. He can still change storms into sunshine. Don't be discouraged or fearful, don't lose hope or faith there is always sunshine after the storm.
Have a great day. It may be stormy now, but sunshine can come suddenly.

Good Morning

I just wanted to stop by and tell all my friends that I maybe missing in action for a little while longer.
First....I am really getting in my yard and reworking flowerbed and cleaning up The 2 Acre Woods...
wish I had Pooh Bear and the gang to help me..
I have been unable to do much in it for several years, over 10 to be exact..just a little here and a little there and it looks like ...well let's just say a big empty spot with a house on the back side. I am now able ( due to losing all that weight... still got more to go) to do so much more without giving out or having to set down every 5 mins to breath. I plan to work one area at a time. Don't know how much I'll get done this year, everything is so expensive...but at least I'm getting my front flower bed and around my patio fixed this year and maybe will get more done in the fall. I will show pictures when I get a chance.
Secondly...I will be helping with my 2 Grands that live close to me for awhile, Their Mom has gone to work full time..well... averages 40 +hrs, but 3 part time jobs. She is a Beautican and works 2 days a week there, then she took on the Secretary's job at the Church that is Tues, Weds and Thurs from 8-12, then she is working as a Secreatry at the Funeral Home as needed to fill in for the lady who works there on week-ends.
Busy lady, but with the Economy like it is, she had to add more income, Most of her Customers have been with her for over 25 yrs and some where pretty old when she started, so they are either passing away or too old to come regularly. She decided to do another line of work, she is just tired of doing hair. She's having alot of trouble with her shoulders, not good when you have to have your arms raised all day. So please keep her in your prayers.
Also please pray for her Daddy he was hospitalized Yesterday with a stroke and they are really worried about him. Pray for his speedy recover.
Got to run talk at you later, will visit my blog friends tonight, love y'all.
Have I told you lately how very much I appricate your support and friendship..If I haven't I'm telling you now.
