I was deep cleaning my bedroom one day last week, one of the few days that we had a warm sunny day.
As I was stripping the bed I kept hearing a faint, tapping and just couldn't figure out what it was. I looked everywhere, nothing, so back to work I went...then in a few minutes I heard tap, tap, tap...ok, now I was curious and kept listening and it sounded like it was coming from the window, so I opened the blinds and guess what was tap, tap, tapping on my window, like it was saying open up and let me in..well, I don't think so....
aww, come on open up and let me in....
It had warmed up enough and he was looking for a place to build a nest...
I can hear you now..what has this ugly bug got to do with Rednesday? Well it is a Red Wasp...
YUK! LOL :)
ReplyDeleteWell Molly, your ugly RED wasp appears to be giving you a smile in that last photo! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHappy REDnesday!

Oh, I am so dreading wasps! We seem to attract nests in every window.
ReplyDeleteOK, did you let him in? :) NOT! That's when I would have hollered for the hubby to break out the bug spray!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, Molly. I've noticed that wasps and bumblebees are the first insects to appear in the Spring. I did a post on bumblebees for today.
ReplyDeleteI love your closeups of the wasp. I couldn't get that close to the bumblebees ... lol
A red wasp! Well, as long as he was outside and not inside!

You find the REAL in such wonderful small things, Molly!! I just love seeing what you've done every day.
ReplyDeleteI do NOT love or miss those angry little fellows, though. My funniest encounter was one morning when I was picking butterbeans---a great big old red one, big as a hornet, stung me on my forehead, right in the middle.
It started to swell really badly, so that the whole center of my face was odd-shaped with my nose so wide between my eyes that I could hardly see around it to drive.
The worst part was that I was committed to play the organ at a wedding several towns over that evening, and I hid in the choir loft, and was so embarrassed at my funny nose that I didn't even stay for that gorgeous reception. Pooh.
Girl, those things have been swarming around my back door as well. Wish they would go find someone else to visit.
ReplyDeleteYikes! I'm glad you didn't answer that knocking. I've never seen a red wasp and I have to say I'm pretty glad about that.
ReplyDeleteHubby had to put some facial boards on a house and he said a 5 gallon bucket of them came out. He went very early this morning when it was cool to replace the boards.
ReplyDeleteWhat great picks!! And I can't beleive that you heard him tapping!! I would have screamed when I saw him there. Almost like something out of Twilight Zone!!

Yikes! Great pictures of it though! I always try to steer clear of those guys because I'm allergic to them, and because it just plain hurts when they sting you. Be careful out there!
ReplyDeleteHappy REDnesday!
Carol
Geesh! Leave it to you to find something unusual to post!
ReplyDeleteYes, unfortunately, we do accept ugly red bugs on Rednesday! LOL! I hope he has found a spot far away from the house, too!
ReplyDeleteOh no Molly! I'm so not wanting to see those around the house again! My daughter got stung with one when my son was just a newborn. Her finger swelled up really big.
ReplyDeleteYou sure did get some great pictures of him though!
Hugs,
Angela
There are too many bug posts lately - It must be spring! How did you get such close up shots...ICK! I would be running and screaming I do not like bugs. Yet, I love camping - go figure!
