Shadow shot Sunday and playing in the Sunshine Scenic Sunday

It's time for 2 of my favorite Memes,,,,,Shadow shot Sunday over at Hey Harriet's. and Scenic Sunday
Today will be my last post for a couple of weeks. I am leaving Monday morning and returning Sat. for a weeks vacation with our Senior Class from Church, we will be headed to Gatlinburg and will enjoy a few days sight seeing and attending the Old Time Gospel singin' and preachin' Conference. I am so excited to be able to hear and see Dr. Charles Stanley preach and Randy Travis in concert.
I am also very happy and blessed that both of my Grands are being Baptised tomorrow. Connor Gave his life to Christ in July and Morgan during Revival this past week.
All of my Boys will be here to attend Church with us and celebrate this wondrous occasion.
For my shadow shots and my scenic Sunday shots, I want to share a few pictures I've taken of my yard, I love how the sun rises from the back of my house and playing with the trees to cast wonderful shadows...
Even the squirrels love setting on the bench in the sunshine....
Hope y'all have a Blessed Sunday and I will see you soon.

Finding Beauty Friday

Today I am joining Claudia's "Friday Finding Beauty" event on Dipity Road. Today all the participating blogs can post whatever they like on their blog that touched them in some way and made them feel, see, or appreciate a moment of beauty in their lives.
Beauty comes in all sizes, shapes and forms. Some you can see and touch, others you can only feel in your heart I believe you can find beauty in everything if you look hard enough.
The beauty I'd like to share this week is a special find that shows up every year around this time. I love
walking out one morning and there they are in all their glory....It's what I've always called the Mystery Lily,  Their scienific name is  Lycoris radiata (red spider lily) is a plant in the amaryllis family, Amaryllidaceae.

The red spider lily has many aliases; they are Spider Lily, Naked Lily, and Mystery Lily.  It will bloom in late summer and be around 24–28 inches (60–70 cm) tall.  The leaves remain green all winter long and at the first hint of warm weather the following spring, they will die. The Lycoris radiata is a perennial plant.
You can find out more about them here...

Hope you all have a wonderful week end...

A Beautiful gift from God...

I went to Richland last Sat to a Soccer game and while there I spent a little time wondering through my Son's rose garden. It is new and small but he has loved roses since he was little and has always wanted a rose garden..I love roses but have never had any luck with them.
His are blooms their last for this year but have been oh so beautiful. Of course I had camera in hand as I wondered.
The first pictures are of MinMin's Hibiscus that she has growing by her mailbox...
I noticed when I snapped this one something besides me was enjoying the beauty of the rose...

my favorite was this lone bud on the bush all by itself, saying look at my splendor...
In the corner of the garden he has his beloved Statue of The Mother looking over the beauty of his flowers and a few weeds...lol...... the garden is still a work in progress..he can only do a little at a time...still needs to mulch the beds, but his back will let him do just so much...
Hope you enjoyed this little morning stroll though the garden with me...Have a blessed week.

Tuesday show and tell..hummm good acorns

Today I am joining Tuesday Show and Tail over at West Virgina Treasures, be sure and click on the link and check out all the other great pictures

One day last week I was outside with my camera...as usual..it was a cool morning and I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful sunshine and pleasant temps. Well as I walked around taking shots of the Spider Lilies or as I always called them, "Mystery Lilies"
DH noticed ChiChi setting in the shade of the Oak tree and she was chewing away on something...He laughed and told me to look at what my "Rat" was eating, well now I do believe she thinks shes a squirrel...lol

Even Levi saw her and gave one a try but he wasn't as fond of them as she was...

She is really enjoying her snack, can you see what she is eating...

Yep that's right she is eating acorns, as a matter of fact she has ate them all her life...she will spend hours under that acorn tree eating right beside the Squirrels.silly dog...
When I called her she looked up like what? What is wrong with it, they are soooo good.

looking forward to the cool fall weather...

Blue Monday

It's Blue Monday over at Sally's house. .Please visit Smiling Sally for more blues.
This week, I think most of you are like me dreaming of Fall and cooler weather. It has been an extremely warm Summer in MS this year, but then it was an awfully cold winter too. The Seasons seem to be all missed up or is it just changing like it has for centuries. I remember when I was in school over 50 yrs ago when we attended a football game in Sept we had to wear coats, I went to my Granddaughter's soccer game Sat and cooked in 98 degree weather. I was reminded of the song that says "and times they are a changing".
But back to the present, I was looking through some old photos I had scanned from old paper pictures to the computer..and ran across these sweatshirts I painted a few years ago, man how I wish we needed these right now...lol...

This one was copied from a picture that the buyer had of her home town in PA.
This  one had pants to match but I couldn't find the picture I took of them...
I liked this sweet set made for a co-worker's daughter
Mary had a little Lamb also done for a Co-worker's little girl
This one was mine, I found the picture in a coloring book and painted it for myself...
 love Bunnies
I did so many of this pattern, that I grew to hate it...lol...
another picture from a coloring book
Name and date in baloons for a friend
painted this one for my neighbor's daughter when she was expecting....she is still a #1 Mom.
Be sure to check Sally's other blues out and pray cool weather will soon be here.
