I have really racked my brains..(what little I have)...to think of something different to show for blue Monday this week. I've thought so hard that I now have a headache...DH, would say me thinking is a very dangerous thing....lol...I finally decided on a few different things...
I have seen this picture several times on other blogs, but it has always been a favorite of mine. I always think about the Movie "Racing with the Moon" . Very good movie taking place at the beginning of WWII, it's about a group of young boys, not grown but not kids anymore, it takes place the Summer before some of them leave to join the Army and their live changes forever. They are so young and innocent.. Also makes me think of our railroad that ran near our farm house, in a more innocent and peaceful time. I'm sure there was a time in my life when I thought if I could walk far enough that old RR track would take me right up to that Moon. Isn't it beautiful? Just looking at it lets me drift back in time...It has been raining for 3 days here in Central MS. Now I'm not complaining cause I know in a month or 2 we are going to be begging for this rain, but I was so glad to see the Sun fighting to come out this morning, that I grabbed my camera and took a few picture. Alas the rain won out for a little while. The sun finally made it out about 3 o'clock PM. In the first picture the sun is just popping out a little about 7:30 this morning,
This second one shows the gray clouds covering the sun, it just wouldn't let it's little light shine....
The sun sure was putting up a good fight...
This last picture is of a giant tea cup I have full of Biddy n hen and moss roses. If you look real close you'll see the little blue bird tucked in the middle of the plants. I found him at the Dollar Tree Sat when I was checking the store out. I'll be glad when my Mose Rose spreads, it came up volunteerly this year.
That is my Blue Monday offerings. I hope you enjoyed them. Please leave comments, I love to hear what everyone thinks, even if it's bad. For more Blue Monday Posts please visit Smiling Sally by clicking here.
Great post, Molly!
ReplyDeleteI've seen some cute things at the Dollar Tree. I think it is our modern-day Five and Dime.
ReplyDeleteLove all the blue bits and pieces in your Blue Monday post. I wonder where that railraod picture was taken. Some place where they have put the new concrete ties. When you walked the rails did you ever look for Date Nails? I have hundreds. Yes I'm very bad I would bring along a hammer and pry them out. LOL...
I'm glad the sun finally came out so you'd get a picture of the blue sky. Your bird is cute too. Thanks for sharing. Happy Blue Monday.
ReplyDeleteMolly, I found you thru Blue Monday. I assume you are in Brookhaven from your header. I too am a MS girl originally--from Vicksburg.I do love that picture of the train and moon. There's something romantic about the railroad to me. Nice to "meet" you!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday, Molly.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, Molly! We must have had the same weather yesterday, raining on and off but we were still able to work in the garden...Christine

Hi Molly.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post. I have never seen the railroad moon pic, but found it most romantic. I can certainly see how it takes you to a different time and place. For me, it reminded me of a movie from my youth...Stand By Me also a movie about loss of innocence and the cycle of life.
Blessings to this Blue Monday,
Valerie
Molly,
ReplyDeleteThe picture is just hauntingly beautiful and I have seen Racing With The Moon and they go together well.
I too keep watching the sky for any change in the clouds. We have had bits of sun and rain all day. But I'm patient. Soon we will all be complaining about the heat!!
Happy Blue Monday!
xoxo
Jane
