Well..... Y'all I have to say I'm a full blown Junkaholic, no ands, ifs or buts about it.... the picture above is just a portion of a one day shopping spree...I just can't help it, I'm addicted...BIG TIME....
If you look close at the picture right behind the rolling pin, you can see a set of canisters, $4.00 for the 4 peices, I took the set and changed it to this, isn't it pretty, I sold this set to a lady in Yonker's New York for over $100.00 for her store.......I spray painted them red, painted white Chickens on them and Bammm, like new...who wouldn't want to have them in their Country kitchen...
This breadbox also $4.00, is in the right hand corner and I painted it with a fresh coat of white, trimmed it with red and painted a loving chicken couple on the front. Sold this also for a nice profit on Ebay....
Next item from the picture is this alumnium bun warmer I got for 2.00. It got the red treatment and the cute couple on it and it went to Yonker's also, for a very nice profit...
This next item was found on a trip to Hattiesburg when I went to Dr over there, it was in a little Thrift Shop and had $5.99 on it, well it is as cute as can be and has hooks on the back to hang it on the wall, but there was no way I was paying $6.00 bucks for it, so I talk and walked and talked some more finally she came down to $3.00 so I said "OK"...I guess I can do that....
And this is how it turned out, I really liked it, wanted to keep it for myself, but was talked out of it by a friend, she has it hanging in her kitchen with a set of wooden canisters that I painted setting on it.
The next item I found in a TS for 2.00 and it just didn't seem right for red or chickens it screamed prim.....
And this is how it turned out...I use it for holding odds and ends...like pens and pencils
Last but not least and certainly not all I have to show, but better keep it short...lol..yea right, I can't do small or short blogs.....
This is a grease can that I have shown before and it sure looks better redone, cute enough as is, but........

ReplyDeleteWow.
I wish I could paint like that! If I saw this post a week ago I would have been tempted to run the the thrift store and buy up anything that could be painted and go home thinking I was going to do it myself. But seeing how I can't paint it never would have gotten done. Nope I think I will just leave the painting to the talented folks like you. Great job

Hiya Molly! Wow, your chickens are fabulous! You have an great talent. Love all of your redo's. And couldn't help but notice your in MS. Hubby has an interview with a new company next week. Possible area would be Jackson. So I guess if he gets it, I'll have a friend in the area. He also has another offer in N Carolina. I actually would like to live in the mountains for a while, seeing as I'm originally from Mobile and lived along the Gulf Coast almost my whole life. I'm praying for that one. But you know what they say, we make plans & God laughs :0)
ReplyDeleteOh - I am drooling! I LOVE, love, love what you have done to these pieces - you are an amazing painter! You're givin' me ideas!
