For my pinks today, I have to go wayyyy back in time. Almost to the dark ages...lol...JK, not quite that far back.
I, like most of you have tons of pictures stored in shoe boxes and trunks, drawers, just about anywhere I can store them...these were taken before my digital camera came along, now of course I simple up load them to my computer and transfer to disk, it is so much easier to store like that. I have scanned some of my pictures, but it is such a chore, lifting the lid, punching scan, then having to click on all the little icons to scan and then place in folders, I'm lazy I like to just click and it's done. Well last week while watching my favorite TV show...... QVC, ok so its not a show but it is on TV...:-)....I saw them talking about a neat little scanner that you don't even have to have hooked up to the computer to use, you just plug it up and feed your pictures through and it is loaded on to an SD card that you can plug into your computer when it is full and down load to the computer the same way you camera card down loads, I was in love, I had to have it, well I received it this morning and went to town feeding my old pictures through. Boy was it fast, I set in my recliner and feed those pictures through lickity split...then transferred them to my computer. I've still got a large truck full to do.....I am not totally happy with it though, the picture quality isn't real good, of course some of the pictures are so old and wrinkled, till it probably can't do better. I am going to try some new pictures tomorrow and see if the quality is any better, if not it just might have to go back. That Is one thing I like about QVC, 30 day refund, no questions ask, but I will tell them the problem,
Ok, I know you are saying what has this got to do with pink Sat....when I was down loading some long forgotten pictures I ran into a few that I hadn't seen in awhile, they were of me and my oldest son, when he was a baby and I was wearing pink dresses that I had made for 2 differnt Easters...
The first one was made in 1964, when Chuck was 5 mos old and I made his shirt out of the pale pink material left over from my dress, lol, needless to say his daddy wasn't to happy about it....Ahhh, it would be so nice to be that size again...lol...
You can click on any of my pictures to get a better look...
This next one was made in 1965 when he was 2 yrs old and I made my dress but didn't make his shirt to match this time I can see my Mom in this picture, everyone told me I looked like her but it really showes here. The last one was taken the same day after we came home from Chruch and had an Easter Egg hunt at my In Laws.Hope you enjoyed the short walk down memory lane with me and my pink dresses. Don't forget to go by Beverly's and check out the other pinks.

ReplyDeleteThe pink dresses are great and I love Chuck's little sailor outfit in the 2nd picture. I remember putting my oldest son in a sailor outfit too and it was always one of my favorites.

P.S. I love the beautiful snow picture in your header. I am thinking that must be your yard - it is stunning!
ReplyDeleteI liked looking at your posts. You sewed quite well. I used to sew too, but it's not enjoyable for me. Very nice to see those pictures.

I'm a day late and a dollar short with my Pink Saturday visits. The sun was shining too bright yesterday and just like a little kid I couldn't stop marveling at how lovely it was as it beamed through my lace curtains and puddled on the floor. My cats were in heaven.
ReplyDeleteSo, here I am today, a little late but thinking that I got a bonus because I avoided all the traffic!
I'll be waiting to find out how you like that little scanner - hopefully you will have a second consumer alert!
Lovely blog and the sweetest pinks that you shared. Thank you so much for making this such a lovely Sunday for me.
Oh, I love your memories, what a great and perfect story, Happy Pink Saturday, Char
