This week I am showing my mother-in-laws china, I know I have shown it before on VTT, but today, I wanted to show you the new home it found over the Christmas Holidays..
When Ronnie and Mindy married and moved back to MS 10 yrs ago, they moved into the old Smith Family home that had been closed up for several years, it took alot of work to get it livable and they both worked very hard. It is owned by my DH and his 2 brothers. His older Brother passed away 6 yrs ago and his younger Brother didn't care if the house was kept up or not, so it fell on DH to do all the up keep, he just closed it up after his old maid aunt passed away 14 yrs ago. Anyhow when Ronnie And Mindy moved in, she found the china stuck back in a closet and feel in love with it, she cleaned it and loving put it in the old china cabinet. When the had to move to Richland for his job, they wanted to take the china cabinet and china with them, but DH wouldn't let them, he wanted to keep his Mom's china so he decided he wanted it moved to our house...don't get me wrong I love the china cabinet and buffet, but I really had no where to put them...of course I found a place...sigh...it broke Mindy's heart, DH did tell all the kids that when we died the china cabinet and buffet with china was Mindy's.
Mindy bought her a new china cabinet for her new home, so she doesn't need the china cabinet and moved on from the dishes, knowing one day she'd get them.
Well to make a long story short for some reason DH decided it was time to give them to Mindy for Christmas, we were all in total shock, but I grabbed some boxes and bubble wrap and packed them up before he could change his mind...lol...
I took pictures of her opening the gift, they are not to good cause she was moving, shocked and so excited,
You can see how gently she is holding them...as she shows them to her Mom and Dad...
The beautiful blue flowers on them are my reason for putting this post under Blue Monday..the China is by Orleans an the name is First Love, and can you believe when Mindy's Grandmom from Maine passed 3 years ago she left Mindy, her set of silverware named..that's right.. First Love,...I just feel like they were meant to be together, I know Ronnie's Granny would have wanted him to pass her china on to his children.
Click on picture to enlarge and see the beautiful pattern....
I love how she displayed them in her lighted China Cabinet...PS you can see she is a Thomas Kincaid fan also.
How sweet of DH to pass the dishes on now. Those are beautiful. I love dishes too. Your daughter in law looks so happy. What a great Christmas blessing she will always treasure.
