Today I wanted to show a sign that I painted last Summer, the board the sign is painted on came from our old Church building, You may have seen this before. When they decided to tear down our old Church because termites had destroyed the foundation of this 100 yr old building,
I have to say I cried for awhile, but I wanted something besides just pictures to remember it by, so I got the contractor to let me have a couple of the wooden planks from the sides.
I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them, but I just knew I had to have them, well I thought about painting the Church itself on one of them, but for some reason that just didn't ring right with me. I put the boards aside and nearly forgot about them, Then one day I was cleaning stuff out of my carport and saw the boards still in the corner and as I remember the happy times spend in that little Church when my kids were little, the Bible school, the Christmas pageants, the Bible Studies, the Dinner's on the ground, the all day singings and the love shown to my Chuck when he was in Germany for 2 Christmas, these words just came to mind and I knew this is what I had to paint on it...
And this is where it hangs now...I can look at it and remember how full of laughter, love and life that little Church was.
I am so thankful for a loving place to worship...
I love when people take something from an old building and remake it for memories sake. This was beautiful, I just loved it! Bravo!
