The Simple Woman's Day Book

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...it is COLD & pouring down rain, and it is ugly, unlike the beauty the snow brought Sat morning…the kids are rushing to get to class on time…not good on a wet road…look out for ice tonight…

I am thinking ..how did the folks survive without hot water in the tap years ago…I am so happy it is Monday and we can go to Perkins and get a new hot water heater, mine busted Sat and I have had to heat water on the stove..I’m convinced I’d not made a good pioneer woman…lol..

I am thankful …..for all the beauty God sent my way this week end…I am thankful for my loving family …

From the kitchen...for breakfast it’s hot coffee, Cream cheese buns for Charles for me oatmeal and bananas.
Supper home made chicken and rice soup with homemade bread for Charles and what ever box I grab from the Nutrasystems shelf and a big green salad..

I am wearing…a pink nightgown and large comfy red & black plaid bath robe with white socks..I know not very matchy-matchy but mighty warm..

I am going…to be busy again this week, today helping DH hook up new hot water heater and finishing getting my gifts that I ordered site to store from Wal-Mart. My Bible study class is making home made soup to put in qt container and freeze then we will deliver it to the shut-ins in our Community Weds night. Have to make soup today so it will be frozen by Weds.

I am creating... Finished painting stockings for gifts, now have to finish 3 glass block night lights for my DILs Mothers, Christmas presents.”

I am reading...Beth Moore’s study of Daniel.

I am hearing...the heating system kicking off and on, the chirping of my smoke detector, time for new batteries, must add to list, it is getting annoying….

Around the house...need to finish decorating Christmas tree so I can put boxes away and get living room clean, have to find strings of lights first…aghhhhh…where did he store them? He can’t remember, If I told him once I’ve told him a thousand times put them in the same place every year and you can find them….he just takes it all to his shop and sticks them in every corner…so unorganized….but I guess I love him anyhow…lol…

One of my favorite things...the sounds, smells and sights of the Christmas Season....

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Monday…go to town finish shopping, help DH install new hot water heater, make big pot of home made soup for Weds night. Wash dishes..finally….

Tuesday…decorate Christmas tree and clean living room.

Weds….get some painting done on night lights, go to Bible Study and help deliver soup to shut-ins.
Thurs…paint some more and hopefully the rain will be gone so we can get outside decorated..finish painting night lights…a must….

Fri. …pick up Redman to spend the night and we’ll take him out to eat.

Sat…spend the day with Redman, he wants me to help him paint 6 ornies for his favorite teachers for their Christmas happy…he is a very good artist and I am going to have a ball helping him.

Sunday Church and hopefully a day of rest…..

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

My beautiful Nativity Scene has a home...A friend found it for me in Jackson and brought it to me yesterday...isn't it lovely, DH is going to put me a lighted star on top.
Hope everyone has a happy and Blessed week...

  1. Sounds like a busy week to me Molly. Sorry to hear your hot water heater went out. What a pain. Hope you guys get it fixed soon. If I had to help my hubbie replace ours we'd end up in divorce, lol. We don't work together well!

  2. What a pretty manger your friend picked out!!! She has good taste!!!

Having Redman visit sounds so fun -- it's so fun to craft with someone else, just doubles the joy and creativity...

  3. Well, you are a busy gal - I wondered why I hadn't heard from you.

Again thanks for my gift. Everyone thought they were beautiful - so I know the gifts you are making with Redman will be wonderful.

Don't think I'd be a great pioneer woman either.

Hope you got your water heater fixed.

  5. You do sound busy, Molly...so sorry about the water heater, but I agree that we are blessed to be able to go to the store and buy a new one, when so many people don't have that luxury.

    Love the nativity scene...lovely!

    God bless...have a great Wednesday!
