Good Morning fellow bloggers and dear friends...It is time for Blue Monday over at Sally's house. Please visit Smiling Sally by clicking here
For my blue Monday I'd like to share a couple of pictures I made Sat. the Morning after Christmas...my Sister and I decided to Celebrate our Christmas together the day after, by catching some of the after Christmas sales ....
I got up very early and left home before sunrise, as I was making my way through Brookhaven going to pick her up, this is the scene that greeted me in down town Brookhaven, the sun just peeking up over the Grand Old Lady, the Inez Hotel, built in 1904...I stopped in the middle of the street to take the picture...of course there was no traffic at that time of day in our small town.
The picture just doesn't do justice to the scene, click on pictures to enlarge them to get a better look....the next scene is one block East of the Inez, it is a shot of the sun coming up over the first Baptist Church, the original Church was built in 1901 The front section was added on in 1965.

I love the blue/grays that the first ray of sun turns the morning sky....
Happy Blue Monday y'all.
Good Morning Molly...
ReplyDeleteOh sweetie, these pictures are just beautiful. Isn't it amazing what God can do with a paintbrush. He brushed that sky especially for you on this morning, as you were the only out and anout at that time.
I really love the church one the most. It is so serene. Thank you for sharing sweetie.
Now you forgot to tell me what great bargains you found at the after Christmas sales. I didn't venture out at all, not even yesterday. I just cannot do the crowds with my feet anymore. I am always afraid of getting stepped on.
Have a beautiful day sweetie. Happy New Year will be here before the week is out. Where has this year gone?
Country hugs sweetie...Sherry
Great morning captures!

Love that you and your dear sis spent your day together after-Christmas shopping. Love your early morning pictures, too.
ReplyDeleteYou know the picture you have on your sidebar of the soldier boy and the kitten has haunted me since the first time I saw it years ago. I've prayed for that kitten and the young man so many times it not even funny.
Hope you had a great time with your sis
Happy Blue Monday!
beautiful photos Molly.

Hi Molly
ReplyDeleteI guess that's what makes the world go round'
I on the other hand never see the sun rise, but will always see the sun set...we live on the river and face South, and every evening is another masterpiece.
Happy Blue Monday
