For this weeks rerun I wanted to repost a post I wrote on
I believe it is fitting this close to Christmas...My Kid's Christmas Presents
This year for Christmas I wanted to give my Children something special for Christmas. I have always loved to paint, doing people is one of my most favorite things to do. But...I've never really done a person that I had to make look like someone special. So my year was filled with trail and error attempts to do these. Here is the final results....
Lance and Teresa, Son of Charles and "ME"
Connor and Morgan Son and Daughter of Chuck and Lori Smith
Karter Smith Son of Missy and Kyrk Smith
I have also done a couple more portraits and canvases of people.
Molly, your new header picture takes my breath away!!!! That sun (is it rising or setting?) showing through the trees with all the snow - - - it is just spectacular.
ReplyDeleteDid you take that picture this winter already? We don't have snow here yet - - -
Keetha is right on about that picture. Simply breathtaking. How nice to see that in your own yard.
ReplyDeleteYou are quite an artist. I am also a tole painter.
Do you do genealogy as well. The old photos make me think so.
Molly, first, I love your Christmas blog background and new header photo...they're wonderful! But your paintings are absolutely fantastic! My goodness, girl, what talent you have! Don't ever stop painting. I'll have to visit your other blog...I've never seen your work before...its just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I just saw your previous post...I didn't know about this other blog on Saturday. I join Amy for Then Sings My Soul Saturdays, and I also posted Celine Dion's O Holy Night video...my favorite Christmas carol. I listen to it many times every day, not only at Christmas, but several times throughout the year as well.
My mother used to say that, too, Molly...There by the grace of God, I go. SOOOOOOOO true! He surely is our provision and our protector. Why He chooses some to have a home and others to be homeless is something I'll never understand, but I do fall on my knees and thank Him.
God bless,
Mary
Hello Molly...
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to have you join in with Sunday Favorites again this week, my friend! I remember this post sooo well! I am simply in awe of you and your painting abilities and talents, my friend! I have always been interested in doing portrait work...have done just a little myself...it's certainly challenging isn't it? It's one thing to paint a person and quite another to paint a person's portrait!!! Each portrait that you did of your family is sooooo good!!! You captured their likeness...perfectly!!! Ohhh...and I just love how you did Karter's portrait with Santa...absolutely adorable!!! I can only imagine the looks and joy on your family's faces when they opened these treasured gifts!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your creativity and talents with us today...what a treat, Molly!!!
Warmest wishes and Christmas Blessings to you and your family...

PS...along with the other commentors, I just want to say how beautiful your header photo is! I was wondering if this is a photo of your place and if you took the photo? It's really one of the most beautiful snow photos with sunlight that I've ever seen!
