The first set is a service of oyster forks, I polished them before taking pictures but left one tarnished so you could get a look at how dirty they were when I got them...you can click on pictures to make them larger...
I bid on these and got them for $5.00, can you believe it...
this is another set of odds and ends that I bid on and won, I believe the whole 12 piece set cost $14.97 plus shipping...I have taken pictures of several of the prettiest ones...
just love the work on this sugar spoon
and this meat fork is so very elegant..
really like this cheese cutter,,,it works great...
I'm not sure but think this is a grapefruit spoon...
.and last is a set of beautiful silver butter knives I bought as a set and silver saving pouch for only $4.50.
I keep them polished and in the pouch, have never used them...

You know those are really beautiful! People just don't have Silver pieces anymore. I think they would be neat to display.
ReplyDeleteNice silver Molly. I don't think I have ever heard or seen an oyster fork before.

Charmed giveaway!
Those are just beautiful Molly! Use them! I would! Especially for special holidays and get togethers.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that there would be a punch bowl for my little party plates that I found at a thrift store! That is interesting! I forgot to add to my post that a few weeks after I bought those I found a set at the GoodWill too! I paid .50 for each plate. So now I have a total of 8 plates. They had 2 cups and I paid .25 for them! I just can't pass something like that up!
Oh my goodness, these are beautiful! What great prices. Happy VTT

These are beautiful. You did a nice job polishing them up!! Happy VTT and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Angela - why not use them? Gosh I wonder if the people who sold them knew they were silver and what the cost of them were. They are probably worth a lot right now in this economy.
ReplyDeleteWow, Molly, real silver service! I am old enough to remember when it was safe to eat oysters and have eaten many a fried oyster po-boy...
ReplyDeleteYou got some fabulous deals! Your blog header picture is very pretty
ReplyDeleteI love old silver. I try and use mine each day.
