For today my 2d time around item is something I found in Natchez last week while junkin' with Sis and Rissa, you can read the post here.... on the ticket it said from the old Charity Hospital and $14.00. I knew that it looked familiar but wasn't quite sure what it was...everyone kept saying it was a pee pot, but I didn't think so. But I just loved it's shape and the fact it came from the old hospital that burnt down several years ago, so when he agreed to sell it for 1/2 price I took it.
When I got home I searched the internet and found this picture
and it said it was an old Enema holder from the 50's. And this one on Ebay with the attachment was going for Buy Now $99.00 plus shipping....Jack pot...lol..of course mine didn't have the hose and tips.
Here are the pictures of mine
And here is what I am using mine for...I placed it in the bathroom..(after scrubbing it good) and use it to hold hair brushes and combs. Everything old is new again...
Hope you like my 2d time around item..I know I love it.
That is so cool and your second time around is putting it to some very good use. Definitely a conversation piece!
ReplyDeleteVery unique, but kinda creepy once you know what it is for. I imagine you may be the only person that I know who has an enema cup holding their combs. My favorites are your finds that you paint.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy you are not using it as a TOOTHbrush holder! Good Grief! (interesting piece, and unique way to continue its usage!)
ReplyDeleteIt's so unusual & quirky, I love old finds like that!
ReplyDeleteFor those who know what it was, it's now an item to chuckle over.
ReplyDeletenever seen anything like that...it is kind of ominous...but still really cool to have!
ReplyDeleteWell, those who said it was a pee pot were almost right. It is neat looking if you don't think about what it was used for.
ReplyDeleteWhat an unusual item...it really is a unique conversation piece!
