Several months ago I wrote about my desire to own a bottle tree, I really wanted on bad, you can read about it here....
Well Sat was going to be a busy day for me, I had to take Redman & MooMoo to the ball park and watch Red play at 9:30 and then take him to his G-Momma's, and MooMoo to a Birthday party @ 2-4 and then buy groceries while she was there, go back and pick her up then cook supper for us all...now all this wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't having to run back and forth from Wesson to
Brookhaven....4 different times. But the worse was I really want to go to the Brookhaven Spring Garden Extravaganza, that just happened to be this particular morning....so I got up bright and early and ran down to Brookhaven before 7:30, everyone was just getting their booths set up, but I did find a Chinese Fringe Tree that I wanted, gonna plant it in the hole left when Katrina took out my Redbud tree.
Ok, all is not lost, DH told me he would get some Quick crete and put the tree in a large coffee can and then we could put it in the pot this time the cement could keep it stable, why didn't I think of that,...no I was in too big of a hurry, now I have to find more bottles and I still want the blue ones...
Oh well such is life, we work by trial and error....come back later to see my finished bottle tree.
Be sure and stop by tomorrow to see my new family members, I'm such a proud Granny, No, no new human babies, but I'm just as proud of my sweet Mom and Dad, and their loving care of the little ones...

and a cute Horse stake for my flower bed and ...
oh but wait what is that????, be still my beating heart..is that a ...awww yes it is a bottle tree, my heart went into fast beat mode, my hands got all sweaty and I was floating across the parking lot...with wings on my feet...I m-u-s-t have. Sigh, it was only a small one but I just knew they would have a bigger one, but no!!! that was it, so ..ok I bought it. It's a beginning at least..right? Right!!!!
Didn't have time to do anything with it Sat but bright and early Sunday morning before getting the kiddo ready for Church I slipped outside and set it up in a big old wash pot I had purple cane planted in,
Well I was so happy, I started placing my beautiful cobalt blue bottles on it and stepping back and admiring it, then add another one...added more dirt and packed it down good, didn't want it to fall over now would we...NO we wouldn't, BUT...just as I moved to take another picture before adding the last 2 bottles I head an awful sound and there laying on the ground was my beautiful bottles broken, laying everywhere and the tree upside down in the yard. Now you know it was a shock because even with camera in hand I forgot all about taking a picture of it...I put my camera down and started trying to save some of the bottles...lol...silly me, what was going to get broke was already broke. I cleaned it up, put my 3 bottles that didn't break, up and went inside and as I walked in the house I heard my Momma's voice loud and clear say, "didn't I always tell you, never do any work on Sunday, that COULD wait till Monday, Sunday is the Lord's Day, not yours." Ok, all is not lost, DH told me he would get some Quick crete and put the tree in a large coffee can and then we could put it in the pot this time the cement could keep it stable, why didn't I think of that,...no I was in too big of a hurry, now I have to find more bottles and I still want the blue ones...

Happy Hope-you-find-more-BLUE-bottles Blue Monday! I had no idea what a bottle tree was. I was think 'bottlebrush' you know, the kind hummingbirds and butterflies like, and then, when I saw the "tree" in the bucket, I was a bit confused - then it hit me. Duh, bottle tree. I'm so sorry it fell over and broke your bottles. I love your momma's words ringing in your heart and mind. YOu're right, it's trial and error. (I'm so glad Jehovah God's the faithful One!) Jenn
