  3. Molly,

I hope you get lots accomplished! I love the picture of the dog "supervising"! So cute!

We just missed your family that was in Mountain View by a couple of weeks! It was Joy's first time to go since she was pretty little. We used to go more often when Colt was smaller.

    Have a great weekend!

  4. Mmm Mmm Mmm .... pears! Love 'em! We used to live in a house that was near an old pear orchard. Only three trees left. We pruned them in to shape and revitalized them for some of the LARGEST and BEST bartletts EVER. We had so many that any type of scab or misshappen fruit went into the compost pile. Lots of drunken yellow jackets when the sun was out to ferment the fruit in the pile. Haven't thought of that in years! Thanks for the stroll down memory lane ...
    Hugs :)

  5. You are going to be busy!

We have 2 huge pear trees but ours are never ready until late September to mid October. They are late bloomers I guess.

Do you have to spray your trees? Just wondering.

  6. You must explain what this pear relish is....is it savory, sweet or spicy? On biscuits, yeah yeah...got that...but what does it taste like?

  8. I love pears. Our dogs eat them like crazy. They only like home-grown or those very expensive "Harry and David" pears, tho...won't eat a grocery-store pear...guess I ought to learn how to make the relish for them!!! And I'll "help" them eat it myself, too!!!

  10. Your poor hubby hard at work. Those pears will taste great once the cold dreary winter comes. Can't wait to see your post on the pear relish.
