To me beauty is so many different things, not just physical things, like a beautiful flower or picture ...beauty is first and foremost always in the eye of the beholder. It is a feeling, a moment of joy or a few hours spent with someone you love, just the 2 of you laughing talking sharing time., and memories. A few hours that take you back to another time, a time that is gone and can only be recaptured every now and then because life moves on and you can't and really don't want to hold it back.
The Sat before Mother's Day was such a day for me. My Baby Boy you can read about him here)
and I were extremely close when he was growing up, we are still close, but he has another life and another love to spend most of his time with, and that is the way it should be, that is what I raised him for. He lives a couple of hour from us and works at a Hospital in Jackson, he is the head of a large department so he is nearly always on call and that means he can't be over 20 mins away when he is needed. There for not many long trips home.
Anyway as I said the Sat before Mother's Day he and his wife, who's Mom lives in Wesson also, came down for the day, she, to spend it with her Mom and he with me, a whole day of just me and my Baby Boy, We had so much fun, he is just learning to work in his yard and we walked all over mine, him asking questions and taking pictures. Then we went to several nurseries, just looking and taking, we also went to Sonic and got a Butterfingers Blizzard, something we did every day for 12 yrs, when I'd pick him up from school, he had to have his blizzard. He even went grocery shopping with me.
To end the night, my sweet TT, her Mom and Step-Dad and little Brother met at my house and we all went to McComb to Santa Fe Steak house for Supper. It was a perfect day...
Santa Fe is a nice steak house and I really enjoyed the company of friends and family....
Love the big bull setting at the front door greeting everyone, this little girl looks like she was enjoying her ride..ahhh the beauty of a laughing child, over the simple little pleasures of life.
This old truck was sitting outside, on the opposite side of the building from the bull and of course DH had to have a picture, he loves old rusty vehicles
TT with her brother and Step-Dad waiting for a table....we enjoyed looking at all the mementos on the walks and notice all the peanut hulls on the floor, yep it was one of those places where you ate peanuts and threw the shells on the floor. I over heard one lady saying "how disgusting that was" her family sure brought her to the wrong place..lol..wanted to get a picture of her but BB wouldn't let me cause of her snotty ways, she had on a semi formal dress and all made up, lol she got a big surprise when they stopped there.
TT's SD loves the Steak house he even had on one of their T-Shirts..hence the writing on the back..
I was so sad to see the night end with my BB, even though he calls every other day it's not the same as being able to just sit and talk to him.
After they left around 9, my Middle Boy and his family came down from Richland to spend the night and go to Church with me Sunday morning, He got up around 6 and made coffee for me and him (everyone else was still sleeping) and we spent some together time, just he and I walking around my yard and setting on the patio drinking coffee, talking and watching the sun come up. I am very Bless. My oldest and his family already attend the same Church as me and we were all together, for services and lunch afterwards, just wish BB hadn't been on call Mother's Day and could have went with us. We all had so much fun we even forgot to take pictures Sunday..that is sad.

...They have fantastic ribs or steaks...I like the walls between the booths...
Sam, Josh and Baby Boy looks like they are saying "I can't believe I ate the whole thing"
Ann and Sam, good friends and also now Family how lucky can you get
Baby Boy and TT in deep thought..wow so much food..and if you don't put that camera down..lol..they hate for me to take pictures..
Baby Boy decided turn about was fair play so he grabbed my camera and took this terrible picture of DH and I...and his middle finger...he didn't open the screen so he didn't think it would take a picture....lol..oh well, it's part of my collection now. We are a down to earth, cut up type of family..as my hero Pop-Eye says, I yam what I yam and that's all that I yam...take us or leave us.
TT sweet Brother Josh gave me this orchid for Mother's Day, he is such a sweetie.
The solar lite bird house was from TT and Lance
as was this beautiful plant...
also this sun catcher Rooster, still not sure where I want to hang it, but I just loved it...they also gave me a very large gift card for iTunes, to buy songs to add to my slide shows.I was so sad to see the night end with my BB, even though he calls every other day it's not the same as being able to just sit and talk to him.

My DIL Mindy made me a beautiful wreath for my front door. She is so talented...
and gave me this cross for my flower bed
oldest Son gave me a set of 3 large flower pots, this is the smaller one I put TT flower in. I just love everything I got..most of all I loved the sharing of the week-end with my 3 sons.
I do believe I found Beauty on that special weekend.
It does look like you had the best day a Mom could have.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Wow - you had a GREAT MOTHER'S DAY!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean - you just would enjoy a day with your grown child - like it used to be. You know they have to grow up and leave and that their heart and their love is with someone else, but just for a day a year - would be the only gift I've ever need that entire year!

How fantastic it must be to have such a wonderful relationship with your son. You are both blessed.
ReplyDeleteThanks ever so much for joining us at FFB :)
Hugs!

The beauty of your family was created by all of you-with you setting the pace so many years ago when the boys were just wee bits. Glad you had such a wonderful Mother's Day Week-end!
