DO YOU REMEMBER WHERE YOU WERE ON 9/11/2001

On September 11, 2001, four U.S. planes hijacked by terrorists crashed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people in a matter of hours. Behind the staggering number of deaths are the individuals, each of whom left behind family, friends and co-workers who feel the national tragedy on a personal level.
The list is staggering....heart breaking and totally gut wrenching.....
DO YOU REMEMBER WHERE YOU WERE 8 YEARS AGO TODAY...
I was sitting in my recliner watching the Today show, and I remember it like it was yesterday, time stood still and was so surreal...my #3 son had just walked in the door for a visit, after returning the week before from working in Washington D.C. DH had fixed my drip to hook up for my treatment and we were all just shocked into total silence, We were fixated on the TV , couldn't turn our eyes away or even talk....Time actually seemed to stand still....I am still amazed at how long it took me to comprehended what was going on.
The heart break, the sheer destruction and lost of lives.
Pray that our Country never has to endure such terror and pain again.

  1. Hi Molly,

I do remember...Joy was just a toddler and we were up and about...Colt was doing his schoolwork and my mom called and said to turn on the TV. I watched in horror and shock.

And you're so right...we do need change, but the change needs to come in the form of repentance and from the hearts of people, and not just our leaders.

Thanks for sharing. I hope you have a great weekend!

  3. It was a terrible day in American history...a country that has given its soldiers, its money, and help in many ways was attacked by cowards with hateful hearts. We can't comprehend that kind of hate, that kind of malice...so yes, we were shocked, stunned, and heartbroken. America has always been a country of people that love and give. We have enjoyed the freedom that our Christian beliefs and founding fathers have bestowed on us. Yet, there are people that hate us for living freely, and for enjoying what God has given to us. They prefer that we are oppressed and dependent; they prefer that we submit to their wishes rather than make our own decisions. I believe that the majority of Americans live with humility toward their Maker, the God of the Bible. But there are those that would force us into humble servitude to their authority. The change, I believe, needs to come through the hearts of those filled with hatred and evil motives. It is the very command to love your neighbor as yourself that our enemies cannot understand. God bless America. Mary

  7. I was in my high school classroom. It was my planning period. Another teacher came by and told me. I felt that life would never be the same. but God still lives!

  8. Oh Molly.........It was such a horrible day/time in our country. There were so many lives lost, but so many lives turned upside down as well. I wonder how many died of a broken heart, grieving their loved one? I was actually asleep here on the West Coast and my husband came in to tell me I'd better get up, our country was under attack. I couldn't take my eyes of the tv for days, hoping for any shread of good news. Sadly, I think many have forgotten.

    Blessings to you sweet lady....

  9. Yes, I was on my way to work and heard it on the radio. At work someone had a TV on and we watched the twin towers burning. I had tears running down my cheeks.

I wanted to go home and get my DH to meet me there. I didn't know if the world was coming to an end that day.
