My friend Beverly of How Sweet The Sound is hosting a PINK SATURDAY. Be sure and check out all the other pretty pink items over at her blog...
This week I have some dolls to show, I had these store away for several years about 15 for the porcelain ones and maybe 6 for this big box of Barbies...don't you just love all the sweet pinks in this one box, this is just one of my boxes of Barbies. I have promised them to my Grands when I die..lol..I tried to give them to the girls the other day and both Mom's said NO!!!!, they each have several dozen already.
these are just 3 of the porcelain Dolls I put out again for awhile. I love my sweet little red haired girl with her sweet little ribbon roses on her hat and jacket...the Beautiful lady in pink is one of my favorites, she is so elelgant in her feathers and lace. The little boy is red, but it is also very special to me, When Baby Boy graduated from high school I used this boy doll and a cute little strawberry blond dressed in Loyd Star's colors and cap and gown as the Senior Breakfast center piece. I gave the little girl to one of Lance's special friends cause it looked like her and she loved it.
I was just heart broken, I though tI had these packed so good and safe, but if you look close you can see on her dress near the bottom left, some how a candle got stored in the box with the dolls and melted through the tissue she was wraped in and ruined her dress.
I just love her wavy little blond hair....I have had her since 1979, she was my first porclain doll.
Oh Molly, I just love dolls!! What a great collection. I wish I still had my Barbie dolls from my childhood.
ReplyDeleteHave a perfectly pink Saturday!!

I DID and I DO!!! How sweet---my own memories lean to the porcelains, as well. A cousin had lots of the Lady Alexander type, all lined up on shelves in her room in their wee velvet and satin costumes. I looked and envied, but when she got to be a teen and gave them away, it was to her boyfriend's little sisters.
ReplyDeleteShe gave me her BOOKS!!! Shelves of them, and I have never been so grateful for an unfulfilled wish.
I love your babies, and the way you love THEM.
You've done a good job of saving these precious dolls, even with that one small exception. I didn't save a one of mine!

When the blossoms of summer begin to fade we can always count on Pink Saturday to bring a smile to our faces and to remind us that somewhere there are pastels and pretty things.

Oh boy, can you come out to play, or better yet, can I come in and play, perfect, just perfect, Happy Pink Saturday, Char
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome collection!
ReplyDeleteYears ago I started handing things out to my two kids, telling them that I didn't want to be dead when they got the stuff. I just go visit if I miss something! I get to see them enjoy it all through the years, and see the stuff we had in our home together, decorating their homes as adults.
It's amazing how much our collections can mean to our family!
Molly, what a fantastic doll collection! I also love the redhead...my grandgirl is a redhead, with a personality to go with it! They are all beautiful...love the Barbies, too, though I never had one, and none of my grandgirls like dolls...they all love stuffed animals instead. They dress them like they are dolls...hats, shoes, doll carriages...whoops, I mean animal carriages! Your grands will love those dolls someday, just because they belonged to you!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Mary
Well, just precious! Happy Pink Saturday!
