Friday Finding Beauty..a beautiful heart and a child's smile

It's time for "Friday Finding Beauty" event on Claudia's blog Dipity Road. Today all the participating blogs can post whatever they like on their blog that touched them in some way and made them feel, see, or appreciate a moment of beauty in their lives.
I believe beauty is anything that makes you smile or warms your heart.
I believe that sometimes beauty isn't always something you see with your eyes, sometimes it's something you feel in your heart and can see the effects of in another's eyes.
My oldest Grandson is a beautiful child inside and out. He is very caring and considerate of others feeling, I saw his personal beauty really shine through 4 yrs ago at his Daddy's and Step mom's 5th Wedding/renew vows Anniversary. They did not have a nice wedding when they married, just DH and me, them and the Preacher, so they had her dream wedding on their 5th Anniversary.
MinMin's Sister had just adopted a little 11 year old girl from Foster care, now this child had been very abused and mistreated her whole little life and was very standoffish and shy. She was afraid of everyone. She stood in the corner until the Dancing started and she eased to the Dance floor, when she tried to dance by herself, her "new" Mom told her to go sit down, "you don't get in the way" She ducked her little head and walked back to the corner, my heart broke for her...My Keiferman was 16, not many 16 year old boys pay attention to things like this, but he did..when he saw her little sad face, he got up with no one telling him to...(I wondered where he was going)..my heart just swelled with pride and love when this tall 16 yr old walked over took her little hand and said "may I have this dance pretty lady". Well I can tell you, you could have lite up the whole room with the light from the smile on her face and her eyes just sparkled.,
Of course I grabbed my camera and took these pictures.

He danced several dances with her and she was so happy, In this last picture you can see the smile was still on her little face, And she stayed close to Keifer the rest of the night. I think that was the first time I saw the child smile the whole time they where here. She still texts him and they remain close friends. She lives in FL.

Skate board Diva

Good morning ladies, I was just wondering how many of you lovely ladies suffer from the "Not able to sleep all night syndrome" like me. I find the older I get the more I wake up several times a night...and there is no need to try to go back to sleep, I just lay there and toss. Was just wondering, you know the old saying "inquiring minds want to know"...lol..

Anyhow decided to make the best of the early morning quite and tell you about my visitors last Sat.

Middle boy and his wife live in Richland and both work so we don't get the pleasure of their company much except Holidays or special occasions. (or when Rissa is having a bad time and we have to keep her for a few days, since they both work and don't have a babysitter near by)

Our Rissa is a special little Angel, she is extremely smart makes very good grades and very talented..she learns quickly.....but she also has ADHD and OCD. She did great in school the first of the year...after they returned to school from the Holidays, she had a small adjustment problem, anyone who has a child with ADHD and OCD know they do not adjust to changes very well. She did not take to having the furniture moved around and someone else in "Her" desk, now to an average person all desks look a like and serve the same purpose, right? Right, but not to someone with OCD, her chair was her chair and she knew it from all the others, even though it was moved across the room to someone elses spot. Needless to say she would not accept this little boy in her chair and she pushed him out, kicked him and tried to drag the chair back to her spot...she became quite irritated and aggressive and would not do what the teacher told her to do and was very disruptive of the whole class, a behavior we do not except nor does the school so she was sent home for a week, Just the little item of someone else in her chair threw her whole world off and she couldn't handle it. So back to the Dr she went. Too make a long story short she spent several weeks with me, she was sent home for several days and when she went back she refused to do any class work so home she came again and back to her behavioral specialist., they have adjusted her meds and also working on a new program of good behaviour, rewards, bad behavior punishment.

For the last 3 weeks she has been doing good and she is working so hard, that she was rewarded with a new skate board, one she has been wanting for awhile, but had to earn. Right now she is doing good, but we are always holding our breath waiting for the other shoe to drop....waiting for something not right in her world, to set her off.

Middle boy decided to take Sat off from working around the house and just come down and visit with his Daddy and I, we Bar-B-Q chicken and just had a good time sitting around and talking, MinMin, Rissa and I went to several junk stores...yep they are junkers too...lol...and then we went to Saves-Alot grocery store, where MinMin bought groceries, for 79.00 she got enough groceries for 2 weeks, she was tickled to death, you can find lots of good buys there, since they don't have a Saves-Alot in Richland or Jackson, she said she would probably come down every 2 weeks or so to stock up.

I took some pictures of my skate boarder...lol..no place to skate here but in the house, now I'm here to tell you my boys would never have gotten away with skating in the house...but Grands are just different...lol...

Of course since she had been so good, I found her a cute Barbie make-up kit for her reward/Valentines day...she's not allowed candy so she was just as happy with this or happier...I also gave her the cute kitten frame I showed the other day. She couldn't wait to get home and put Bella's picture in it.

Now Chi-Chi is not too sure she likes this skate board thing in her house...

she decided to bury herself under her Sponge Bob blanket..

Well can't a girl get any quite time around here..jeez...go home already.

They finally went home and Chi Chi got some rest, until tomorrow night when Mo-Mo is coming to spend the night. She really hides from her. MoMo loves toting her puppies around and the Queen doesn't want to be touched....Bwahahaha

It looks like it is going to be a beautiful day here in Central Mississippi, hope it is nice where you are.

If things go as planned Dear Sis and I are going to the Natchez Spring Pilgrimage next Tues. I will be sure and take my camera...I feel a picture post of the old homes coming soon.

Rednesday.....Roosters everywhere....

OK, I've told you about most of the items I found Friday when my Sister and I went junkin' but I saved this special item for Rednesday. Several years ago my DIL gave me a beautiful pasta bowl set by Susan Winget for Christmas it consisted of a Verrrry large pasta bowl, 6 smaller bowls, a salt and pepper shaker and cheese shaker. It was Maroon with my favorite item on it...Roosters.

The last store we went to had a lot of items I liked, I found my lamp there and I also found 7 bread plates to match my pasta bowl set...I was plum gitty when I saw them...7 for $8.00. I had look on Ebay and they were $9.99 each....There were a couple of them that had a small chip in the edge but you really had to look to see them...

 Don't you just love the scalloped edges...those aren't chips, that is just the light shining on them.

  When Baby Boy first went to work while in High School he bought me a set of dishes from Wal-Mart that had maroon and green trim, that just match perfectly with these plates..Now how neat is that...

2d time around Tuesday,

Today I wanted to share a few more little treasures I found when Sis and I went junkin Fri. as usual we had a blast, but it seems I was the only one buying anything..oh well, I just like junk more than she does..lol...The first item I found was at a Thrift Store in McComb and it was marked $10.00..kind a high until the Lady said she would make a deal on anything in the store, so I said how about $5.00 and she said ok...I grabbed it and ran to the check out...lol..see it down there it is a hugh and very heavy Clouche, the bottom is made out of cement...yep, you heard me right cement, it ain't going nowhere when it is set down,

  I put it on top of my China cabinet, with one of my prize Roosters in it.

 next I found this little tray and pie server and knife....

 after I cleaned it, the tray cost .75 cents and the pie server cost $5.00

 isn't this the neatest item...love the way it is shaped and all the work on it....

 I also found this cute little butter knife for .50

and last but not least I found this adorable picture frame for my little Rissa to put her little Bella's picture in.

All in all had a great day but I saved the best for last a great find at the Thrift store still has my heart beating fast, I don't think I need to say anything, but post this picture and it only cost $20.00...

 I love going junkin'...such neat thinks that some folks just throw away.

Tuesday's show and Tail...The Princess

Today I am joining Tuesday Show and Tail over at West Virgina Treasures, be sure and click on the link and check out all the other great pictures.
Last week I talked about and showed you some pictures of my hunting buddies...you can see that post here. This week I must talk about the Princess of Smith Hill..lol..oh yes she thinks she is a Princess and all her subjects must bow to her, including me. DH is not a, "in house dog person", but for the first time in our 48 yr marriage he lets a little lady rule him, in his house...her name is Chi-Chi...she weighs 11 lbs. she is a brassy little thing, she is a tough little thing, she fought a large car when she was 21/2 yrs old and she survived. A miracle in itself, you can read about that here...

Of course you'd never catch the Princess out hunting, she is too prim for such nonsense...she will make her daily tour of her subjects, but it is not with nose to the ground, like a common hunting dog. Oh no, it is with head held high and tail straight up in the air..

She makes a circle around the pasture, checks out all the cows and the other animals, runs a few squirrels up a tree to show them she's still boss

and then heads back to her throne.... She is such a snob, doesn't want Levi or Katie near her and makes that very clear when she sets foot out the back door. If they make the mistake of getting to close she reminds them with a very loud (for a little girl) growl.Levi has learned to stay away from her. After getting his nose nipped several times...and Katie doesn't hang around.
