Blue Monday..MSU Bulldogs..and things

Good morning, it's time again for Blue Monday over at Smiling Sally's, go by and check out all the other pretty blues by clicking here.
Sat I paid a visit to the Crystal Springs Flower and Garden Expo held on the grounds of the Miss State Experiment Station. They always have such wonderful plants and lectures on how to grow and what to grow.
While there I saw this cute little farmer, it's easy to see why they call him the MSU farmer...got to love them Bulldogs...they can even pull a plow...
It has been so dry in Mississippi, no rain in this area for quite a spell, that I was surprised they where able to grow anything....sure took alot of watering.
I think you met this little guy yesterday he was drinking coffee with a friend..couldn't resist giving you a close up of him in all his country finest and Blue overalls....lol
I loved these Blue gazing balls, meant to buy one but was going to wait till I got ready to leave so I wouldn't have to carry it all day. Nope, sold out when I came back through...teach me not to wait.
There were rows and rows of beautiful flowers everywhere.

Well these are just a few of my many pictures and some with blue in them. I pray that each and everyone of you has a wonderful week filled with kindness and peace.

Shadow shot Sunday...look at me Maw

I am again taking part in Shadow Shot Sunday over that Hey Harriet, stop by and check out all of the other neat shadow shots....
Yesterday was such a beautiful (but dry again) day in MS that DH and I decided to take in a few of our Fall Festivals and Flea Markets that take place in our area every Oct. One is the Wesson Flea Market and since it is only 2 miles from home and one of the largest Flea Markets in the State we of course had to hit it. But we decided to go on up the 51 Hwy corridor to Crystal Springs to the annul Flower and Garden Expo first and them head back to Wesson.
The Garden show was such a great success, there were folks from everywhere there. I took tons (as usual) pictures and will share more later but I had to show you a couple of pictures that had great shadows and are quite cute and funny. I am always amazed at the talent of our fellowman...look at this little guy isn't he just the cutest thing...
 Look at me Maw.....

Here are a couple more cute figures and they too have nice shadows....
"hey come sit a spell and have a cup of coffee"
Hope you all have a Beautiful and Blessed Sunday.

Dolly Wood and Ms. Dolly

When we went to the Fall Jubilee in Gatlinburg, we spent 1 day at Dolly Wood, the Lord blessed us with a beautiful cool sunny day...everything was perfect. And you can imagine our surprise when we found out that, that very day was the day Dolly was going to be there to help celebrate Dolly Wood's 25th birthday. I'm not a die hard country music fan..though I do enjoy it sometimes, but I really admire this lady for her devotion to her Family and her home town, she has provided alot of folks a good living for the last 25 yrs.
I have made a slide show out of just a few of the pictures I took. I didn't get alot of good pictures of Dolly cause time we found out she was there and where she would be singing, the square was full, so I slipped behind the bus and eased as close as I could to the side of the stage, that's the reason my pictures are of the side of her face.
Hope you enjoy

Finding Beauty Friday in the Hills of TN. Cades Cove

Good morning ladies, Today I am joining Claudia's "Friday Finding Beauty" event on Dipity Road. Today all the participating blogs can post whatever they like on their blog that touched them in some way and made them feel, see, or appreciate a moment of beauty in their lives.
Beauty comes in all sizes, shapes and forms. Some you can see and touch, others you can only feel in your heart I believe you can find beauty in everything if you look hard enough.
The beauty I'd like to share this week is a trip I took with my Church Senior Group
to Gatlinburg and Cade's Cove 2 weeks ago. I have to thanks God that he gave us such a beautiful cool week to go. We left here on a Monday morning and arrived late that evening....
The first picture was taken around 6:30 AM from the balcony of our Motel room in Pigeon Forge the first morning. We spent 2 days here and then moved to Gatlinburg next to the Convention Center.

Cade's Cove Primitive Baptist Church and my Church Group

As always I have to get a shot of the Cemetery so much history here would love to know about these folks and their lives..

Cade's Coves visitors Center and homestead... this place took me back to my childhood back on the farm, the only thing we didn't have as the old mill building..lol..no streams like this in MS and not many hills but all the barns and cribs and warn wagon really took me back...

This looks just like our farm house except ours was 1 story and had red brick like siding plus tin roof..

                                                           the old grits mill.

the first thing that came to mind was "and a river ran though it"

corn crib...I hated this building on the farm..snakes loved it...

on the hill over looking the farm..amazing view...

We were entertained by a wonderful couple, everyone who was watching joined in and sang..it was amazing....

My favorite place on the farm was the hay barn and where we kept the mule tack and wagon....of course we didn't have the split rail fence, just barb wire and post.
We really enjoyed the day here and ended it at the Apple Barn in Pigeon Forge for a late lunch and then returned to the motel for everyone to rest before going out for supper. I'm ashamed to say I was one of them that took a nap...lol..my face was really hurting by now.
Tomorrow our trip to Dolly Wood and meeting a legend in the area...

A common sight on the bus ride to & in Cade's Cove. I didn't get to take too many pictures from the bus because of the tinted windows..

I'm Baaaackkkkk

Well ladies, I'm back, for a spell at least. Picked up my computer "AGAIN" today and got it up and running, got a feeling it will be back in hospital ...if not tomorrow ...real soon....I want to go running though the house screaming, pulling my hair out.
I had so much going on since we last chatted, that I don't know were to start. I went on my trip to Gatlinburg with a group of ladies from our Church, we had such a good time. I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't been suffering from 2d degree burns on my face. Thank goodness it was cool while we where up there.
I had gone to a Dermatologist 4 weeks ago and had 3 skin Cancers removed from my face and he gave me a cream to use on my face to get rid of some small ones that remained. He told me to be sure and use it all over my face to even the dark spots out as well..but he didn't tell me not to go out in the sun for 48 hours after using it...well I went to a soccer game that Sat...of course I used the cream that morning...it was a hot Sat in MS. 102 degrees and the games where from 11:30-2:00..needless to say I have suffered ever since. My eyes where sollen shut and my face itches so bad. And it is still swollen..and pealing.
This was taken Sunday morning after the game on Sat.
These were taken the day before I left to go on the trip...

The place on the left side next to my eye has healed pretty much but around my eyes feel like ants are chewing away. I am here to tell you I have never hurt so bad in my whole life...I can't get out in the sun till it heals completely and I don't think it ever will.
OK enough complaining, I will telling about my trip to Cades Cove and the Apple Barn tomorrow.....just wanted to drop by and say Hello
