Animals from ShakerVillage...

Today I am joining Claudia's "Friday Finding Beauty" event on Dipity Road. when we went to Shaker Village which was a self substantial town, we also visited the farm, of course now they just keep a few animals to show how the farm was run, but back when it started the farm furnished all the vegetables, meat, eggs, milk and wool to keep the farm and town going....I'd love to introduce you to a friend I met while at the farm,
HELLO WELCOME TO MY WORLD, I'M BILLY, BILLY THE GOAT, LET ME TAKE YOU ON A TOUR OF MY HOME....
This is The garden, we love to look at it but we aren't allowed in it... and some of my family love to slip in it and eat all the good veggies, but me..now I wouldn't do that..ahhh lets move alone...hehehe
a closer view,
Meet the girls and (gooble gooble)Turkey, boy do they stink and they do get noisey when the girls get to cackling together...
oh look your just in time to see them having a hen party...lol..get it a hen party...ok, moving on
My brother and his wife just had a new baby, Baby doesn't want his picture made...he's so shy not like me...
Baby hiding behind Momma..lol..a little camera shy
meet Annie...how what are you looking at Annie....

Ohhh I see the horses getting ready to take the humans for a ride...
See our beautiful home...
Hello, what do we have here, oh my, I'm sorry you had to see this, sad so sad,..seems he likes to bite, not good for a wagon horse...that's why he got put out to pasture...lol...get it...oh, I'm full of them this morning..ok,.moving right along...
well at least he's got the ducks and geese for neighbors
Isn't this a beautiful place to live and raise your kids, my room mate sure is a pig always eating, so much for trying to introduce him...
Hope you enjoyed your short visit and you will come back to see us soon, we love living in such a beautiful place...
BYE COME BACK AGAIN

  1. That kinda looks like a cribbing muzzle to me. That doesn't necessarily mean they bite people as much as it means they chew wood and/or suck air. Cribbing is a very bad habit and annoying.

Nice pictures. Great place to visit.

  2. That's what the gentlemen we talked to said, that most of the time it was used for stopping them from chewing wood, but that this horse was bad to bite and nip at folks as he pasted them, thus the muzzle.

  3. You know something that stuck me by all your pictures - the grounds, the garden, the buildings, the animals - it all looks more like Heaven then some of the places around. It seems greener - more simple. We have wires here - above and below the ground - meters - streets - lights - busy busy busy.

    It was lovely there.

  4. What a beautiful farm. I just love all the animals. I feel a sorry for the horse, he must be lonely out in the pasture by himself.
