Several years ago DH and I took a 3 week trip out west, we just went where we wanted and did what seemed interesting. We had no itinerary or plans. We left MS and headed north west passing through LA, MO., OK., KS, NB., SD., WY., CO., MT., ID., and back the same way. We were tired and glad to finally get back home, but even tho we really enjoyed the trip, we will never do it again...lol...Though we got to see alot of the country we'd never seen before, we didn't get to see everything we wanted too because we had to keep moving or we could have been gone for 3 months.
I can't say what part of the country I enjoyed the most, it was all beautiful and enjoyable. If I'd have to choose it would be Big Sky Country,
I can easily see why it was called that. Coming from MS where you can't see 1/2 mile in the distance because of the hills and trees, I was totally amazed at being able to see for miles in every direction.
My second favorite place would have to be Mount Rushmore, I was in awe of this beautiful landmark and to think it was carved by man. Unfortunately we were up there doing the Motorcycle rally at Sturgus and ever where we tried to go was totally filled with bikers. So we didn't spend much time in the area. I took a picture of the monument and also a herd of Buffalo in a pasture near the park.
These pictures aren't the best since they were made with my first digital camera and it was not the best one to have for making good travel pictures.
Well that was a lot of travelling in that short time.... but I guess you have plenty of nice memories from it. the scenery on the first is lovely and with wonderful depth

The important thing was that you were able to take pictures of the trip. All were nice pictures, especially the second one.
ReplyDeleteMy Scenic Sunday post is up HERE. Happy Sunday!
I love the first shot of the wide open road.
ReplyDeleteLove the big open views in Big Sky Country. So glad you and your hubby were able to see so much of the country. Now you can always reflect back on what you saw and did. You are blessed.
ReplyDeleteOne day we'll have to do some traveling.
