Finding Beauty Friday..The Chester

It's time for "Friday Finding Beauty" event on Claudia's blog Dipity Road. Today all the participating blogs can post whatever they like on their blog that touched them in some way and made them feel, see, or appreciate a moment of beauty in their lives.
My post today will having you saying, Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder...you've got to be saying, she thinks this is beauty? Yes I do, this wonderful little dog brought beauty to the lives of everyone in our family. He was THE Chester, a Basset Hound and a real hound he was. He stole our hearts from the minute my Son brought him home @ 6 weeks old, to his then 1 yr old son, Redman. He was the sweetest, lovingest dog I've ever met. Our middle boy called him low ridyer, cause when he ran he looked like one of those low ridyer cars you see on TV, his front end bobbing up and down in time with his back end. He was always into something and then would look so inoccent, like who me?

  1. I know what you mean, I still miss ones that I lost years ago.

He looks like he was a mess. I love the way he was colored. But, I bet he was indeed a very sweet boy.

  3. Oh Molly Sweetie...
Yes Chester is true Beauty. Little low rider that he was. How precious is that face. I just love it.

My little Handson "Bruiser" also has cancer. He is on limited time, we have opted no chemo or surgery for him. He is still eating and playing, and when the pain gets bad we will do what we must. I will not let them cut him up a piece at a time.

Thanks for sharing this morning sweetie. I love it when you do.

    Country hugs and much love...Sherry

  4. Awwww, Molly, I'm smiling, too!

And that Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder thing---well, I can't think of a beholder who wouldn't find that sweet little fellow beautiful.

  5. Hi Molly. My name is Terri Smith. I'm a visual artist out of Bonaire, Georgia. I found you by way of Claudia's Friday's Finding Beauty celebration. I have family who reside in both Jackson and Newton, Mississippi. I met and married my husband in Meridian. He was in the Navy at the time, but has since retired.

Chester was a sweetheart! I too lost a babyboy, Azure, a black beauty cocker spaniel three years ago. Still miss him most every day. He too had the kind of innocent face that made it difficult to scold when getting into mischief. Thank you for sharing Chester at his best..it brought back such sweet memories of Azure for me.

I joined your site today, and if you'd like to pop over and visit me, your presence would certainly be welcomed any time. You can find me at: http://dimplesdragonflies.com

May blessings, peace and sunshine follow you always, Terri

  7. Oh yes, Chester certainly counts as beautiful! Even if people didn't like the way he looked it sounds as if he had a beautiful soul - if a little mischievous!

How unlucky to lose a Bassett hound to bone cancer! As I understand it, it mainly strike tall dogs - like my favourite breed, the greyhound. Sorry to hear that. It's so hard to lose them. :(

  10. Oh I can see how sweet he was - In 45 years we've had 3 dogs who died and now our fourth...Lillie. She's the light of our lives but I still miss my other three. They just stay in our hearts forever, don't they? I loved your post. xoxo Nancy

  15. Molly, my nieces grew up with a basset hound named Archie, and they adored him. He was such a good dog. And my cousin had one, too, whom he loved dearly. I know how much joy animals can bring into your life, and I think Chester is a beautiful boy. I love his face!

    Happy Pink Saturday...

    XO,

    Sheila :-)
