Re-Run Sunday...easy to make Christmas gift....

It's time again for Sunday Favorite Re-runs, a new Meme hosted by Chari over @ happytodesign http://happytodesign.blogspot.com/ It is so much fun to go back and re-run some of my favorite post.
For this week's rerun I wanted to repost a post I wrote on 7/13/2009 I believe it is fitting this close to Christmas...it is a simple way to make a nice gift for a teacher or special friend....
Posted for 2nd time around...
It is time for 2nd Time Around Tuesday, hosted by Diane @ A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words. be sure to drop by Daine's blog and check out the other 2d time around items.........

This week, my 2d time around item is made with this glass candle stick, the one in the center...I found several candles sticks one day while junkin' and I remembered a post I had seen several days before, but I am sorry, I don't remember what blog it was on...if it is your idea, if you will let me know I will gladly give you credit for the idea, it wasn't mine, but I really liked it..
So I took the candle stick and
this
a plain little bowl and my handy tube of Gorilla glue and made
this....
Isn't it the neatest little footed dish, well I filled it full of soft green glass beads and added it to my new bathroom redo,
Doesn't it look cute sitting on my freshly painted white shelf.....I also made the little footed candle holders on each end of the shelf with small candle sticks and small square votive cups added cream color votive candles and viola instant decor...home made version.
close up view...you can also click on the pictures to enlarge them.....
Don't forget to check out the other 2d time around items over at Diane's place.

  1. Hi Molly...

I love your pretty "footed" bowls and candleholders...what a great idea! Your new footed bowl looks beautiful filled with the pretty glass beads...what a lovely addition to your bathroom shelf! Wow..and these would be so easy to make and fairly inexpensive too! You're right...they would make wonderful gifts!!! You could fill them with just about anything...I love it!!! I have several of these little glass candleholders around too...and I know that I have some glass bowls!

Thank you so much for sharing this great gift idea and for joining in with the fun of Sunday Favorites again this week, my friend!

Warmest wishes and Christmas Blessings to you and your family...

  4. Hi Molly... I love this idea... Spencer at Bellmeade Cottage did something similar with a teacup which she turned into a votive... which I also did a post about when I followed her directions... but yours is a different take on that idea, so I don't know if that's where your original posters idea came from..

Anyway... I have not forgotten about your teapot. I just found our that my traincase was made of the wrong material to work... and I've not found another... but I haven't forgotten my promise!

Thanks for visiting, commenting, following and/or blogging about my 300th post giveaway! Good Luck!

    Blessing. Dixie
