Happy 10th Birthday to my special little girl

Today is a special day for my little girl Chi-Chi she started off as my BB puppy, but when she was 2 he moved to an apartment and I had to keep her, she was so bad, loved to stay out side and slip across the road to a friend's place. She slipped one time too many, she knew she wasn't suppose to be there and when I called her she tried to slip back without me seeing her....bad mistake.....DH found her lying beside the road dying...we rushed her to the Vet ..the Vet.. said she wouldn't make it if her kidneys were blocked and doubtful she'd make it even if they weren't...thank goodness after 5 days when the swelling went down she was able to go to the potty on her own...she had a broken back and dislocated hips on both side.
She and I have been through alot together, she was hit by that car at the time I was down with staph infection after knee surgery, I told the Vet, we'd make it together and she set in my lap on a pillow while I took drips and kept my leg elevated, for 3 mos. DH would take her outside to go potty and bring her back to me, she would even eat sitting in my lap until she was able to stand on the floor, that was 7 yrs ago and we're both going strong. Vet said for a little girl she was amazing . Cold weather hurts her but she loves the cool fall air.
She's my baby.
The first picture is after she got well from the accident, she had to sit on something soft for along time, she would drag that teddy bear around with her for years and sit on it...lol, it finally fell apart and had to be thrown away. She hunted it for a month and never would accept another plush toy

  1. Hey Molly, what a fighter she must of been. That's great! She's a cute dog! You might check out one of my blogging friends, Jen at unglazed. She has a post about her two chi-chi's today. She's on my sidebar under my favorite blogs.

  3. I'm so glad you DID put in all the commentary. Especially that the teddy was her own little sitting-place when she needed it.

    That's a sweet story.

  5. I hope Chi Chi has 10 more years. Those chihuahuas can be very long-lived, knock on wood. She's a precious girl.

  6. Happy Birthday to your sweet girl! She's a cutie...and a survivor! We've got a survivor too. Our Jake is paralyzed now but is as happy as can be. We were advised to put him to sleep but just couldn't do it. He's a happy camper just as long as he's by his momma!

  7. LInda that is such a great story. I really believe dogs are the closest animals to humans. They are so smart and loving. She really is a special girl.

I love that she carried her little stuffed animal around to sit on. That is too cute.

    Happy Birthday!!
