I am reposting a post that I did right after I started blogging, It is called the Making of Morgan Caroline.
NEW DOLL IN THE MAKING
Last year I decided to try my hand at making dolls again, I plan on giving a blow by blow in pictures as I progress on it, so here's the step by step process as I did it and it is now finished, I haven't made a doll since the early 80. Hope you enjoy following along on this journey with me. I had purchased the doll body from Marie At MamawCreations, so all I had to do was stuff it and go from there. First I sewed the body and stuffed it. Then I painted on her cute little face....she looks deformed
Step 2; I stuffed then added the arms and legs I also painted the legs blue stripped and the shoes black ahhh, she's starting to come together....
last step is to make her apron and there you have Morgan Caroline
She is now in the home of my Granddaughter Morgan Caroline...

I love the doll! I made a doll for my GD and hope to make some more. Cloth dolls are so cuddly! I also love your military pictures. My son is in Iraq right now.

Wow, I just got all carried away in your blog! I learned how to make photograph pillows, special soap, paint snowmen on wine glasses, and make adorable little hats out of socks!

I just love this post!!! I love dolls and I love making dolls (although its been a number of years since I have made any)! I really enjoyed seeing the creation of Morgan Caroline...she turned out beautifully! I bet you had fun making her! Ohhh...and then to learn that she was a gift to your granddaughter Morgan Caroline was the "icing on the cake"! I would have loved to see the look on your little granddaughter's face when she got this handmade...one-of-a-kind doll...made specially for her from her Grandma! That's just precious!
I remember one doll that I made for my youngest daughter...I used yarn for the hair and wanted the hair to be long and curly! Oh boy was that a challenge but I had so much fun creating it! I looped each strand of yarn...at the top the loops were short and as I went down the head of the doll, I made the loops longer and longer! It really turned out cute! I bought a doll trunk and made all kinds of outfits for her doll! Sooo much fun! Now all of my three daughters are grown and I haven't made a doll for a long time!
