Weekly update...and Flea market finds....

Good SATURDAY MORNING to all my friends in blog land. I finally got a good 10 hrs sleep last night. I have not been feeling well for a while, but hopefully that will change soon. I finished all my dental work and got my parcel finished, hoo-ray I can finally eat with out having to chop it up first...lol...
When we went to Clinton Monday we didn't do much junking, cause DH was sick he had a terrible headache, but wouldn't let me go that far alone, he has had problems with his sinus all his life, has Asthma also. He had his last Sinus surgery nearly 2 years ago, but just never could tell it did any good, he kept a drainage and bad headache all the time. He went back a couple of month's later and the Dr told him he had staph infection in his sinus cavity. He is now on his 8th round of antibiotic. It keeps reoccurring ever few months. Each bout seems a little worse. Thurs, he told the Dr he needed to do what ever he needed to, to get rid of it. This time it's been about 5 mos. since he came in. the Dr did an MRI and the infection is spread all over his head, he has large pockets of infection in his frontal lobs. They are going to use a new device to get the meds straight to the sinus, Dr said it was kinda like a stream machine that blows it directly into the cavities. We go back in two weeks for that treatment, sure hope it helps.
Weds we went by a Flea market in Hazelhurst on the way to Clinton (the second time) I found several items that I had been looking for. I found another breadbox, like the one I painted last month and sold on Ebay. I have had a couple of ladies asking me to do another one like that. So I will be working on it next week. Also found a very nice locking cake plate and cover, an old metal coffee pot and a in very good shape picnic basket, this I am going to paint prim and line the inside for use with sewing or kniting items.
I will show pictures as I finish these items, but it may take a little while, I will be leaving next Sunday for 4 days in Branson and this week I have to finish my shower gift for my little next door neightbor. I can't believe this child is grown and married with a little one on the way. She and her older Sister grew up with Lance, they stayed at my house. Lance called her "The Boss" lol and so does her Hubby...lol...
OK, here is the picture of my great fines..and they averaged out to less than $6.00 each.
The picture on the bread box might have been pretty when it was painted in 1991, but now the paint is chipped and faded and it just begged me to take it home and repaint it with a new design.
Well got to run, I have been mighty slack with my house keeping this week and I can't handle it any longer...got to do some cleaning...lol...Hope y'all have a great and Blessed week-end.

  4. Your poor hubby. You know, the head is just riddled with sinuses and they are the devil to clear up. Hope the new treatment works. That is the kind of low-grade infection that just ruins the quality of life. Very unpleasant.

At least you got some good deals. I ran to an estate sale although I'm sick (it ain't catching) and they had a cake carrier too, but the greedy guts wanted $20 for it, just outrageous and certainly with hubby looking over my shoulder I couldn't even pick it up to look it over.

Can't wait to see what you paint on the breadbox, I agree, that other painting must go and get something cheerful on it.

  5. Your poor husband. I hope he gets some relief soon. I know how bad sinuses can be...well, I know how bad mine have been, I can't imagine what he is going through. Take care of him!

    Happy Pink Saturday!

  9. Hi Molly,
I'm so sorry to hear about your hubby not feeling well. I hope that this round will help relieve your DH some and that he can start to feel a whole lot better soon.
