Pink Saturday

My friend Beverly of How Sweet The Sound is hosting a PINK SATURDAY. Be sure and check out all the other pretty pink items over at her blog...

My first pink item is a reminder to everyone that April is Autism awareness Month, but we all need to be award of it year round, so many people do not realize there are many types and forms of Autism from mild cases to sever..Be sure and click on pictures to enlarge.
.

I'm sure if you follow my blog, you know that all my items I have, have meanings and a story behind them, that's just me, I don't collect just for the sake of it "most of the time".
My next item is just such an item. I found this, wait let me rephrase that, DH and I found this a few weeks ago in a Thrift Store, when I saw it I smiled and reached for it at the same time DH did, we looked at each other and both said, Rissa-Kat....lol...She looks just like our little GD, who is 8. If you can read the sign it says"so sweet like me" and the way she is posing is exactly what she would say and do....the little girl is dressed much the way Rissa would dress, she loves to dress herself and her Mom lets her. I must say sometimes she looks like a bag lady..lol..but she thinks she is beautiful. She is very into making money and every little idea she has she will try. Her Mom and Dad encourage her to expand and grow, she is who she is and we love her and encourage her. PS it only cost .75 , not the most perfectly done item, but we loved it. Here is a pink flower in a hanging basket in my yard, it is a small Moss Rose, I just love the cream base with a soft pink tips. The last is a puzzle picture I put together a couple of years ago because it reminded me of my 2 grands. When they were littler they would ask me if that was a picture of them......
I hope you enjoy my pink Sat. offering and will leave comments. Be sure and go by Beverly's and check out the other pretty pink items.

  1. Molly, I love your pinks and I love the story aboout your GD! I have an 8 year great-niece who is much like your GD, very independant and quite the fashionista!

I also appreciate your commitment to Autism awareness. I have a cousin and some friends who have children with autism in differing stages. They are such precious children!

Have a great weekend! Many hugs.........

  2. Hi Molly,

You asked me yesterday where my Grandfather was from in Mississippi. He grew up in Pascagoula, and his sisters & their families still live there. He moved to New Jersey after he got home from World War II & never moved back to Missippi, although he went to visits a couple times a year.

I LOVE your little statue, she reminds me of my own 8 yr old.
