Tuesday's show and tell

Today, I decided to show you what I have been working on and tell you why. My DIL is a very thrifty lady, she loves for her little girl who is in the 3d grade, to have the cute notebooks other kids have, but refuses to pay the outragous prices that is asked for the decorated note books sold in stores. So her answer is to buy a cheap black .99 cent notebook from the Dollar Store and get Granny to paint it for her. My GD loves it, this way she has a very inexpense but a one of a kind book, and her Mom doesn't have to worry about paying upwards of $10.00 and have the same book every other girl has. It is so easy to paint one, that if it tears up during the year I simple purchase another one for .99 cent and personalize it again. Still comes out cheaper. I painted her this one in Aug and it did finally tare up, so here is the new one I just finished and will get it in the mail today.

This is what it looks like just blah and boring....but it serves the purpose, holding papers..

This is what it looks like painted and especially for her. No one in her class will have one like this.Isn't she just the cutest little Ginger? This is a pattern I got from a sweet friend Kris over at http://paintedkreations4u.blogspot.com/ check out her blog and other works. Thanks Kris for such cute ideas.
