2d time around Tuesday,

It is time for 2nd Time Around Tuesday, hosted by Diane @ A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words. be sure to drop by Daine's blog and check out the other 2d time around items.........A couple of weeks ago I stopped at my favorite Thrift Store and while looking around I found this cute little lamp, it was perfect and needed no work or new shade...I paid $4.00 and walked out smiling....had no idea where I would put it, but just knew I had to have it...
Well I played around with different locations and finally decided to try it in the hall way. My hallway is small and usually I don't put anything in it. I moved a small bench DH built for the kids years ago, my youngest is 31 so you know it is old...lol...I moved a small cabinet beside it and placed the lamp on it. I think it looks great..makes the hall look warm and cozy..
I already had the sketches of my boys when they were each 6 mos old, hanging in the hall...
This shot is taken looking out the bathroom door...so it is a small hallway, but I love the look I achieved...
Hope you all have a great Tuesday and hope you find a lot of 2d time around treasures...

A-Z Monday... I is for Sweet Iced Tea

This week I am joining the meme A-Z on Monday ~~ blogging our way through the alphabet~~ All About Food! at Unglazed, check out her blog for other foods starting with I this week...
Picture from the web...
Southern Sweet Iced Tea
3 Family sized tea bags
a pinch baking soda (about 1/4 teaspoon) (sorry meant to added soda is optional)
1 cup of sugar
2 cups of water
Directions
In the south we make the best sweet iced tea you'll ever taste.I also like to put a slice of lemon in my tea...
Place the two cups water in a pot add a pinch of baking soda to the water and add 3 family sized tea bags. Bring to boil, remove from heat and cover. Allow to sit for at least 10-15 minutes. Add the sugar to the hot tea and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Then fill remaining pitcher with cold water.

The soda takes out the bitterness and darkens the tea....this small amount doesn't change the taste.
