Vintage Thingie Thursday

It's that time again, you know what time I mean, it's time to show some more of our vintage items, And today I have a few more of the items I bought at the Longest Yard sale, all of them are vintage some just show more vintage wear than the others...lol...
The first item is a silver plated water pitcher it was pretty dirty but I polished it up and put it with the tray I found on my trip to Natchez with Sis and Marissa.
Next is a serving fork that matches my Momma set of silverware, I have looked on line and on Ebay for replacement peices and this fork sells for 17.95 at the cheapest place, so you can imagine how my heart was beating when I found it in a large jar of different silverware and it was marked $1.00.... oh happy dance time again...
next is a 4 piece set of tin canisters, they are stacked inside of the big one and 2 tin cans, I plan to paint these with roosters if I ever get back to painting...
Next are 2 pictures of a slop jar or chamber pot or pee pot which ever you want to call them both have lids and both look totally different but were used for the same purpose...to keep you from having to go out in the cold and freeze your buns off.
The one with the red trim is my favorite, I love the shape of the lid.
Next are 3 metal pots a teapot, coffee pot and tall water pitcher..these too will be painted one day.
this is a pitcher of some kind with no lid. I like the design of this...
This is a set of wooden canisters and the salt and pepper shakers to go with them also a ceramic dark brown pitcher.

This is few more of my Flea Market finds.
HOPE YOU ENJOYED MY VINTAGE THINGIES! SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!

Happy 10th Birthday to my special little girl

Today is a special day for my little girl Chi-Chi she started off as my BB puppy, but when she was 2 he moved to an apartment and I had to keep her, she was so bad, loved to stay out side and slip across the road to a friend's place. She slipped one time too many, she knew she wasn't suppose to be there and when I called her she tried to slip back without me seeing her....bad mistake.....DH found her lying beside the road dying...we rushed her to the Vet ..the Vet.. said she wouldn't make it if her kidneys were blocked and doubtful she'd make it even if they weren't...thank goodness after 5 days when the swelling went down she was able to go to the potty on her own...she had a broken back and dislocated hips on both side.
She and I have been through alot together, she was hit by that car at the time I was down with staph infection after knee surgery, I told the Vet, we'd make it together and she set in my lap on a pillow while I took drips and kept my leg elevated, for 3 mos. DH would take her outside to go potty and bring her back to me, she would even eat sitting in my lap until she was able to stand on the floor, that was 7 yrs ago and we're both going strong. Vet said for a little girl she was amazing . Cold weather hurts her but she loves the cool fall air.
She's my baby.
The first picture is after she got well from the accident, she had to sit on something soft for along time, she would drag that teddy bear around with her for years and sit on it...lol, it finally fell apart and had to be thrown away. She hunted it for a month and never would accept another plush toy

The Simple Woman's Day Book

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...It is a normal Monday morning cars passing going to school, it is cool, down to 60 this morning, the birds are singing and the cows in the pasture softly lowing. What a beautiful Day God has made.

I am thinking...How much I have to do today and how blessed I am to be able to do it..

I am thankful …..for this day God has given us, for my new flooring, now nice it is to not breath all the dust formed by the carpet and yes it had to be vacuumed everyday, still formed dust everywhere.

From the kitchen...for breakfast it’s hot coffee, and fresh strawberry turnovers. Lunch will pick something up in town. Supper, home made hamburgers with sides of homemade fries and onion rings…I know all fried fats…oh well, at my age something is going to kill me might as well die happy.

I am wearing…white shorts, maroon T and pink slippers..

I am going…start cleaning outside today, Flower beds need cleaning out to plant fall flowers.

I am creating...glass coaster sets with special pictures in them as little Christmas happys.

I am reading...Still The Book of Daniel, what a great and complicated book.

I am hearing...DH watching Fox News….

Around the house...House is spotless, will start on the carport and patio today.. Clothes need washing also.

One of my favorite things...watching my little ChiChi run in the fresh fall air, she doesn’t play a lot because of hip problems cause by being hit by car…

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Monday…Go to Wally World, buy groceries, get started on cleaning and reorganizing car port and patio.
Tuesday…continue with cleaning yard for big Labor Day BBQ also will be Birthday party for 2 youngest sons and DH. All Aug. birthdays 8th 27th and 28th.
Weds….Bible study we are studying the book of Daniel
Thurs…No real plans except to rest..
Sat.  Play it by ear
Sunday …go to Church
Here is picture thought I am sharing...
When I took this I was just playing with my camera, I was taking a picture of the flower of a chives plant, didn't see my little visitor, click on picture to see it real clear...
Hope you have a great day. don't forget to check out the other daybooks for today.
