HAPPY 4TH ...FROM FORT HARROD, KY

A couple of weeks ago DH and I went to Kentucky with the purpose of visiting the Shaker Village Antique Show and sale and also to visit Fort Harrod during the 2d Annual Re-Enactment.... To learn more about Fort Harrod Click here
We had such a great time, and since this week end is The 4th of July and the Fort was founded in 1775 and the men of the Fort fought to help win our freedom I thought these would be great pictures to show how our country was founded...
Today I am joining Claudia's "Friday Finding Beauty" event on Dipity Road.
My friend Beverly of How Sweet The Sound is hosting a PINK SATURDAY
Scenic Sunday is a photo meme of the scenery. It can be landscapes, buildings, flowers, or anything you feel is a scenery photo. This meme will be held every weekend. To join, just post your scenery shots on your blog and link back to Scenic Sunday.
We ran into a family who takes part in alot of Re-enactments, they have 8 children and they are just beautiful children, the mother makes all of the outfits and I just had to take pictures of them...
This is the sign out side the Fort....

The little one in pink was 5 yrs old and she was all over the park, she looked like she had walked out of the cemetery and really belonged there....

The baby is even dressed as part of the re-enactment..she was asleep but had the same blond curly hair as the older children
This is the oldest child, she was 13...

I hope all my friends have a great 4th of July, we are gone to spend the week end with Baby Boy in Madison.

2d time around Tuesday,

It is time for 2nd Time Around Tuesday, hosted by Diane @ A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words. be sure to drop by Daine's blog and check out the other 2d time around items.........
Today I will be packing and getting ready for my SECOND trip to Shaker Village in Kentucky. I really enjoyed the last time we went and look forward to this visit. Will take tons of pictures.
So since I am going to be so busy, I wanted to just show you some
of my second time around items that I used in my yard this year....
Most of these items I have received from family members who no longer wanted them or we owned and had decided to get rid of and I decided to give them a new life in my yard...
I've had this wagon for 46, we gave it to our oldest for his first Birthday and we couldn't get rid of it.
My boys gave me this hen and a Rooster 38 yrs. We had this put away cause the beck was brokeI got this pot from my MIL several years after we moved for a Halloween decoration.my used bottles holder 2d time around for bottles and holder..in the back ground you can see my DH 2d time around treasure and old Dodge Ram, he bought from our son, who had bought it 20 yrs ago from a guy he worked with. DH uses it to go hunting in..We inherited this glider from MIL she had it since 1961, the year DH and I married, when she passed we brought it home.
I found this slop jar at a flea market several years ago...
There are several 2d time around items here, my rooster goes with the hen, and the bird house was found at a flea market on 49 south.
This old coal bucket was being thrown away by a friend and I grabbed it...
Hope you have a Beautiful week and I'll see y'all next Tuesday with a lot of neat stuff, I hope.

Blue Monday

Good morning my dear friends, it's Blue Monday over at Sally's house. .Please visit Smiling Sally by clicking here.....
On Blue Monday we show our beautiful blues and this week I want to show a few of the things I've learned to do using my Photo Shop Elements program...
This week end I had the pleasure of keeping both my Grands while there Mom and Dad went to a concert on the Gulf Coast Friday night. Sat. I had to get them ready and drop them off at a Family reunion for their Mom's family. They both looked so cute I thought I'd snap a few pictures and him having on a blue shirt made it perfect for Blue Monday.
I used the Photo Shop program to remove a few blemishes and do a couple of corrections and I couldn't get over how much better just a few clicks could make..
Redman has a problem with fever blisters in the summer, every time he gets in the sun, he develops multiple blisters, and MooMoo has a problem with her baby tooth on the right side wanting to show...so I used the cloning tool to get rid of them
and added a border, a texture and one of my favorite sayings...I had them stand in the corner of my bedroom so there wouldn't be anything behind them, I didn't plan on the blue wall and white door looking like a room divider but I loved the effect. I used the spot tool to remove the lines in the door frame and the paneling and made it look solid. Also didn't notice she was wearing white standing in front of the blue and he had on blue standing in front of the white...
Oh and she posed this way herself, I didn't even have to tell her how to pose..little ham, isn't she?...lol...and this went from this
to this, all of my kids and Grands have problems with puffy eyes so I kinda took some of the puff out.
In this one I removed the handle of the tripod that I forgot to move out of the corner I added a frame and texture and then wrote SOUTHERN BELLE.. doesn't she look so cool in her soft cotton, sundress....This picture just needed a little work on her mouth...and eyes...
to get this...I am having a ball playing with Photo Shop, now I want to learn how to add people to a photo....
Hope you all have a Blessed week, DH and I will be leaving Wednesday to go to The Shaker Village in Kentucky for a Antique Day. Hopefully we will be back by next Tues. It just depends on what mood stricks us and were we decide to go from Kentucky.

Them sneakly little boogers.....

Ladies I just want to say, I had the scare of my life yesterday evening. DH had to go to McComb to pick up his meds from the DR's office and since we had both Redman and MooMoo we decided to leave around 4, swing by Drs and Wally World and take the kids out to eat. We had all gotten ready and headed out the door when I stopped to snapped a picture of MooMoo. sitting on the patio...about that time I noticed ChiChi
trying to run and jump on MooMoo her favorite person, next to her Momma (ME), I say trying to cause I noticed she was wobbling and stumbling and her back end was going one way while her front end went in the opposite direction...of course being from the Country my first thought was, "oh, no a tick"...but on inspection no tick was found no where. Next though she's either gotten into poison or has been snake bite. Since there was no swollen area we ruled out snake bite, so I grabbed her up and off we went to the Vets. I explained to them what was wrong and that we had to be in McComb by 4:45 and it being 4:10 we couldn't stay, so they assured me they would take good care of her.
Later yesterday evening I received a call telling me they had examined her good and she did in fact have a tick and had tick paralyzes, even with all the meds and dips and shampoo, 1 tick had managed to get into her ear canal and was near her ear drum..it was so small even the Dr nearly missed it. She was given a shot and redipped and had to stay over night.
So just remember those sneaky little devils can slip into places we don't think about or can see. And even though we keep ChiChi protected they still found away to get to her.
I'm going to pick her up this morning and I know she will be glad to see her Momma, she hates the vet on just a regular go and come home visit but really hates the over night stays.
Hope y'all have a good day.

Finding Beauty Friday

(OK, edited 7:50 A M, just noticed I'm a day early, lol...no wonder my week flies by so fast, I just skip aday I don't like. Sorry about that. I really thought today was Friday...)

Today I am joining Claudia's "Friday Finding Beauty" event on Dipity Road. Today all the participating blogs can post whatever they like on their blog that touched them in some way and made them feel, see, or appreciate a moment of beauty in their lives.
Beauty comes in all sizes, shapes and forms. Some you can see and touch, others you can only feel in your heart. My beauty today is both, I can see the beauty of the object, but the beauty of a gift from a true friend is also felt in the heart.
a couple of week ago I was browsing the Etsy store of a dear on line friend, Holly or better known to us as Penniwig's (you can check it out here) and came across the cutest pair of Earrings, that I wanted to purchase for my "one day to be Granddaughter" so I order them and send payment then sit back and wait to receive them. Holly makes these earrings herself and the price is just fantastic
Now can you imagine my surprise when I not only received the beautiful pair I ordered
but I also received this extra pair
and a surprise email telling me I was getting a refund. Yes that's right both pair of beautiful earring were free
all because this beautiful lady won a painting I did and she thinks it is great. I am humbled that she thinks my work is worth anything. I consider her a true finding beauty friend. To me nothing is more beautiful than a true sweet heart and this lady has a big one.
Thanks Holly, you are special to me.
